Filled with wholesome goodness, this is our favorite family chili.
It’s almost time to hibernate and fill up our bellies with warm winter favorites. Chili is a must in our household. The truth is, I never make the same chili twice, except for our favorite ones of course, the Family Turkey Chili and Turkey Apple Chili.
This recipe has always been a winner in our household so I make it at least three times a month. Sometimes we throw it on a bed of salad leaves and add gluten free chips or top on gluten free buns or add on roasted acorn squash, YES PLEASE! Of course, eating it in a big bowl is quite delicious and acceptable as well! If I really want to go the extra mile, I add fresh salsa on top. Winner! Winner! Turkey dinner!
My taste has changed a lot over the years. I used to like my chili filled with spice but as my eating habits change, so do my taste buds. I used my favorite spices, chili powder, cumin and smoked paprika. It’s the smoke paprika that makes this one stand out. Our other favorite, the Turkey Apple Chili, is really creamy and sweet and this is more basic as in, my children will eat it. Both darn delicious in every way. This is a dish that our family gets excited to eat the leftovers. Taste better the second day, I think!

Oh I love soup in the fall! I try to make turkey substitutions when I can, but I’ve never done it in chili! I’m going to have to give this a try!
Yum! I love chili and the weather right now is perfect for it!
