A sweet and crunchy trail mix with an abundance of delicious fall flavors.
This trail mix is very addictive and filled with deliciousness. There, you have been warned! Our family couldn’t stop munching after one bite, that’s for sure. Best part, my kids aren’t healthy trail mix lovers, until now.
If you have a sweet tooth, then this recipe is for you. I used my favorite fall flavors such as: pecans, pumpkin seeds, cherries, apples and then covered them with a cinnamon-maple syrup. Out. Of. This. World. Good. The crunchiness and sweetness combined will knock you off your feet.
Pecans always remind me of sweet pumpkin pie. They have a buttery flavor and are extra sweet when covered in maple syrup. I kept some of my pieces whole and others chopped for different consistency throughout the snack.
Pumpkin seeds are filled with heart healthy magnesium as well as fiber. They are sometimes also called pepitas. I purchased raw pumpkin seeds for this recipe.
Apple chips are used for sweetness and crunch. You can purchase apple chips at a store or make them yourself. For this recipe, I pulled out a bag of purchased apple chips and broke them into smaller pieces.
Although there is a lot of sweetness, the combination balances out quite well and makes it addictive!
