One day, I started getting tired of bath time. Yes, me…mom. I watched the bubbles fill up the tub and water get thrown, cups filled to the brim and splashed everywhere. It was always the same story. The same bath. The same thing day in and out.
So, I finally decided to put my thinking cap on to make it more fun for all of our sanity. Well, especially the kids. My amusement was bonus.
This has been the first of our bath time series. A series of some serious fun. (Get it????)
A quick walk around the house, I noticed we have lots of fun items that can indeed go in the tub! For our alphabet soup bath, I brought:
- Kitchen supplies (strainer, bowls, cups, scoops)
- Foam Alphabet letters
- Yellow Food Colouring
I know, you are probably wondering why I used yellow … but it was the broth. I was thinking chicken and alphabet soup, yellow, ya know. Perhaps I should have grabbed the kitchen chicken too…just a thought. 😉
The kids loved to scoop their soup into bowls, watch the strainer release the water through the holes and play with the alphabet letters.
Food colouring mixed with water does not stain the bath or the kiddos! Best part, it only took a few drops to change the color of the water.
I would show you all the photos of the fun the kiddos are having but I like to leave some things private if ya know what I mean…
HOWEVER, I have lots more bath time posts to share with you! Next week, I’m sharing our rainbow bath.
How do you make bath time special?
