Miss 2 (almost three!) loves to paint. The first words out of her mouth each morning are, “Can I have a paint brush?” She is quite the artist too. You can find her covered with pen marks all over her legs, windows designed in artwork and of course, a paintbrush in her hand. This project was definitely up her alley!
This project was actually inspired from a bath time activity. Since foam sticks so nicely to the bathroom walls, I cut out different shapes to play with. While I was helping my son with something, I noticed she was quite bored looking out the window, waiting patiently for me. I quickly grabbed the bag of shapes and off she went!
Supplies Needed:
- Foam Sheets
- Scissors
- Paint brush
- Water
I showed her how to paint a shape using the water and she quickly began her master piece!
First, she painted a shape, then she would place it on the window making beautiful creations!
This little project kept her interest for over thirty minutes. It was great so I could also give Mr 4 the attention he needed at that time.
And believe me, she didn’t mind one bit! Mr 4 created this train. We took down the shapes and then started all over again!
This project helped her:
- Improve fine motor skills
- Learn shapes
- Improve hand-eye coordination
- Use imagination
When you are done, you can also bring them in the bath tub and stick them to the walls! (What they were originally used for!) Enjoy!
