Did you go bananas about your bananas yet? I hope so! Our #CTWW Challenge last week was in two-parts:
Mission 1:
- Check out your fruit bowl and come up with an idea using bananas.
In our household, bananas go quickly. As in, I purchase three bunches a week! If I want to save any bananas or if they do go brown, I freeze them for smoothies.
PLEASE LEARN MY LESSON! Peel the bananas prior to freezing them! If you don’t, the peels freeze to the bananas as well!
Mission 2:
- Fridge time! Clean out your fridge and check the temperature (to ensure proper food storage). Move older items to the front to make sure you use them and…not wasting! This is a great money saving idea to not food as well!
Please don’t hate me, but my fridge is ALWAYS clean. It’s a curse for weekly shopping I suppose. We stock up once a week on produce and by the end of the week, I’m trying to figure out what I can make left with the scraps! I make a weekly list (Check out Mama Mondays, for an example) and we eat everything. I did check on our temperature to make sure it was good, as everything looks great.
See, it’s the little things that we can do to make our homes more Eco-friendly and they don’t have to be a money spender either!
The Challenge This Week
I have to be honest, of all the green things I can do in this world, going shave-less has never crossed my mind until today. This week, we are challenged to go Eco-friendly on shaving!
Joanne, is putting us to the test by NOT using disposable razors and suggests body sugaring.
What are more ideas to have an Eco-friendly hair removal? Glad you asked!
One option for changing your razor is to purchase a power operated razor. Easy enough for leg use, but I’m not sure about every where else 😉
Another option is to purchase the razor that ONLY has a disposable head. That would be cutting down on the trash.
OR MY FAVORITE OPTION….
Use a completely recyclable razor! What?!!!! I want to definitely put this on my MUST TRY list! I love this idea. Made from recyclable yogurt cups!!!! I want to see what it’s about!
Okay, now that we are adding a new GREEN razor, let’s change up the soap.
I prefer to use a soap made by an Eco-friendly company that also has a 100% recyclable container. I actually use a beeswax because it’s softer on the legs as well.
Are you up for the challenge this week? Can you go Eco-friendly shaving???? Let me hear your ideas on being Eco-friendly hair removal ideas!
Okay. This sounds great as far as being green goes, but these razors would take a LOT of green out of my pocket. I bought a 10-pack of disposable razors about 3 years ago, and I am now just about to toss the last one in the trash. (Well, I will toss it in the blue bin because I recycle EVERYTHING. With streamlined recycling, I let them pull out what can and can not be recycled. It makes me feel better about throwing stuff away.) But I digress. . . I guess I’m just one of those women who doesn’t feel the need to shave constantly. I only shave when I’m feeling “special” or when my legs will be exposed to the public (which isn’t often).
I would love to know what kind of soap you use. 🙂
